Growth Mindset

Hello Bloggers future teacher here, Hello Emily!

Growth Mindset, Honestly this is one of the aspects of teaching and education that gets me most excited and Mr. Moss I feel is an absolute exceptional example of this. The set up for Mr. Moss to teach and his general education allows for a lot of room. Not only does it include a classroom that can fit up to forty students but it also has doors that lead right into the scene shop as well as the stage and auditorium. Mr. Moss for the scenic design and tech class had the students working in literally all of these areas. There were some students in the classroom drawing a plan on the whiteboard of the makeup of the set and measuring of the set pieces. Then as you went into the shop some students were painting set pieces while others were spray-painting props. Finally as you go onto the stage there were students building the set using dollies, hammers, wood pieces and much more.
This allows for students to independently choose the task that they want to work on can physically see there improvements which helps there mindset of the entire task. Instead of looking at it like a school project I could tell they looked at it as there own personal project that will be shown in the schools productions. Mr.Moss would go around telling them what they were doing right and then different ways to improve so there mindset was positive but still excited to see how there project can improve.
